March was one of our biggest months yet, headlined by one of our most requested features.

Cafe Discounts

You can now create and manage discounts directly in POS Cafe, then apply them to individual cafe items from the POS Cafe tile in Shopify POS.

• Dollar or percentage off. Choose a fixed amount or a percentage for each discount.
• Applied while customising. Staff add a discount during the customise step, without leaving the POS Cafe tile.
• Made for cafe life. Ideal for staff meals, loyalty rewards and promotional items.

POS Cafe is Built for Shopify

POS Cafe has earned Shopify’s Built for Shopify status. It means the app meets Shopify’s highest standards for quality, performance, design and security.

Staff order emails for cafes

A new template for Shopify’s staff order notification puts what your team needs first: when the order must be ready, and the ordered items grouped by prep area so baristas and the kitchen can see their part at a glance. It’s especially useful if you take orders through Online Ordering. See Order emails.

An even faster add to cart

We re-engineered how POS Cafe v2.0 adds items to the cart, combining several steps into one. The result is faster updates, more consistent speed during the lunch rush, and fewer chances for a modifier or detail to go missing. There’s nothing you need to do: it’s live for all POS Cafe v2.0 users.

Choose where Order Types appear

You can now show the Order Type options at the top or the bottom of the customise screen, whichever suits your team’s workflow.

We’ve rebuilt Online Ordering from the ground up, with much better performance, full control over how it looks, a new date and time picker for ordering ahead, and deep integration with Order Types. More on that soon.
