12 changes this month.

Changes in October 2026

New features

  • Faster printing with Shopify POS printers: Kitchen tickets now print within seconds of a sale, instead of about 30 seconds later. Staff can tap Done straight away, and the Send to prep tile on the POS home screen shows any tickets still waiting, with Print now and Print all for any that didn’t print. Set up Shopify POS printing.
  • Sizes on kitchen tickets: The size of each item (for example “8 oz”) now prints on Send to prep and Shopify POS tickets, including items added with the POS Cafe Lite tile.

POS Cafe tile

  • Send to prep in about a second: Each tap of Send to prep shows “Sent to prep” at once and sends only the new items, so staff can carry on with the next cart.
  • Edit items from either tile: An item added with the POS Cafe Lite tile can now be edited from the main POS Cafe tile, and the other way round.

Online Ordering

  • Item pop-up image setting: Choose how the product photo appears in the item pop-up: Small thumbnail, Large banner or Hidden. Small thumbnail is now the default for stores that haven’t chosen one, so the pop-up is more compact and options start higher up. Change it in the theme editor. Learn more.
  • Works with more themes: Fixed blank option buttons on Impulse and Archetype themes, stopped theme styles breaking the cart and pop-ups, and buttons no longer flash white on hover. Pop-up text now scales with your theme.
  • Sticky menu and category links: The category menu now sits below theme bars that stay pinned under the header. Tapping a category, or opening a link to a collection, lands right on its heading, and the highlighted category stays correct as customers scroll.
  • More reliable floating cart: The floating cart bar now appears correctly on stores where a caching service stores copies of the cart.

Order tickets & KDS

  • Refused tickets still print: If a printer or Fresh KDS refuses a ticket at checkout, those items now go through normal order printing instead of being missed.
  • Fewer missed and repeated tickets: A checkout ticket that couldn’t be confirmed, or that failed, now prints again automatically, once. If a POS device loses track of what it already sent, it recovers that record instead of reprinting the whole order, and items already printed when an open tab was saved aren’t printed again on its first Send to prep.

Admin

  • Troubleshooting setting: The online ordering troubleshooting panel is now turned on and off in Settings → General Online Ordering Settings → Troubleshooting, instead of in the theme editor. Learn more.
  • Send to prep tile reminder: Locations that print on a Shopify POS printer now see a reminder on the Receipt printers page to add the Send to prep tile to the POS home screen.
