Order Ticket Settings
The Order Tickets page lets you choose extra details to print on order tickets: custom line item properties, item prices, the payment status and the order total. Every option is off until you turn it on, so your tickets don’t change unless you choose to.
Open the Order Tickets page
Section titled “Open the Order Tickets page”- In POS Cafe, go to Settings.
- Under Printing & KDS, select Order Tickets.
- Tick the details you want, then click Save.
The Preview on the right shows a sample ticket. The lines your settings add are highlighted, and the preview updates as you tick and untick options.
What you can add
Section titled “What you can add”| Option | What prints | Where it prints |
|---|---|---|
| Custom line item properties | Details your store or other apps save on an item in the cart, such as “Name on cup: Alex” or a cake message. | Under each Native Shopify Product, after its size and modifiers. |
| Item prices | Each item’s price before discounts, for example “Price: $5.50”, or “Price: $5.50 each” when there’s more than one. Free items print no price. | Under each item. |
| Payment status | The payment status at checkout, for example “Payment: Paid” or “Payment: Pending”. | Near the top of the ticket. |
| Order total | The order’s total, for example “Total: $10.50”. | At the bottom of the ticket, after the notes. |
When an order prints on more than one ticket, for example one ticket per prep area, the payment status and total print on each one.
Custom line item properties and modifiers
Section titled “Custom line item properties and modifiers”Custom line item properties are not the same as POS Cafe modifiers. Your POS Cafe modifiers, such as “Full Cream” or “2 x Sugars”, always print, whether this option is on or off.
Custom line item properties are extra details saved on a cart item by your theme or by another app, for example a product options app. They print only for Native Shopify Products. POS Cafe leaves out:
- hidden properties, whose names start with an underscore (
_) - details POS Cafe already prints or uses itself, such as Notes, Name, Prep Area and Order Type
- properties called Payment, Price or Total, so they can’t be mistaken for the lines POS Cafe adds
Which tickets change
Section titled “Which tickets change”These settings apply to new orders that print when they’re placed or paid on Epson and Star printers:
- Online Store orders
- POS Cafe online ordering orders
- Shopify POS checkouts
Open tabs (saved carts and draft orders) and Send to prep tickets don’t change.
Prices, the total and the payment status are as they were at checkout. If an order is paid or edited later, tickets that have already printed don’t change.
