The Table Management page is where you organise your venue into dining areas and tables. Open it from a location's detail page > Table Management.
Dining areas
Areas group your tables (for example "Patio", "Main Dining", "Bar").
- Add a dining area — use Add Dining Area, give it a name, and optionally turn on "Add tables to POS draft orders".
- Edit an area — on the area card, open More > Edit area to rename it or change its POS draft-orders setting.
- Delete an area — More > Delete area.
The "Add tables to POS draft orders" setting
Each area has an Add tables to POS draft orders switch. When it's on, selecting any table in that area in Shopify POS adds the table's name to the order as a no-charge item, so the table name shows in your draft orders and open tabs are easy to tell apart. It applies to every table in the area and you can change it any time via Edit area. Areas with it on show a "POS draft orders" badge. Full detail in POS Draft Orders.
Tables
Each table belongs to an area. On an area card:
- Add Table — create a single table (just give it a name).
And in each table's row:
- Edit (pencil) — rename the table.
- Delete (bin) — remove the table.
The table list
Within each area, tables are listed with three columns:
- Table Name — what you call it. An "Unsaved" badge appears while a rename is pending.
- Online Ordering URL — the table's deep link to your menu, shown in a read-only field with a copy button. (Shows "Set online ordering URL in Settings" until you've configured your ordering page.) See QR Codes & Online Ordering URLs.
- Actions — edit / delete.
Saving table renames
Renaming a table is staged until you save — a save bar appears, and leaving the page with unsaved changes prompts you to confirm. Use Save to apply, or Discard to revert.
Unassigned tables
If a table isn't linked to an area, it appears in an Unassigned Tables card with a warning. Re-create it in an area so it stays organised.
