Prep Areas

POS Cafe’s prep areas feature allows you to assign products to different areas of your cafe where they are prepared, such as meals in the kitchen or drinks by the barista.

Prep areas also control where each item is sent. Each receipt printer and Fresh KDS screen at a location is assigned one or more prep areas, so items print or display only where they are prepared. A receipt printer needs at least one prep area.

Once your prep areas are set up, assign them to products (see Assigning Modifiers & Prep Areas) and to your devices on each location’s page (see Locations).

Steps to set up your prep areas in POS Cafe

  1. Click Prep Areas in the POS Cafe navigation.

  2. Type each prep area title and click Add.

  3. Click Save.
