Online Ordering: Troubleshooting & FAQ

Quick answers to the most common POS Cafe online ordering questions. If something isn’t covered here, contact support with your store name and the page where you’re seeing the issue.

My menu changes aren’t showing on the storefront

Section titled “My menu changes aren’t showing on the storefront”

Menu changes re-publish automatically a few moments after you save (edits are batched, so several quick changes publish together). Wait a moment, then refresh the storefront page. If it still hasn’t updated, go to Settings → General Online Ordering Settings and select Re-publish menu on the Online ordering menu card, then check that the card shows Published.

A location or its products are missing from the online menu

Section titled “A location or its products are missing from the online menu”

Check the Online ordering menu card in Settings → General Online Ordering Settings:

  • Only locations with an active POS Cafe licence are published.
  • The location needs Enable online ordering for this location turned on in its Online Ordering section.
  • Products need to be available on the Online Store sales channel. See Building Your Menu.

If the card shows No Online Store menu, the menu has no licensed locations or no collections available to the Online Store.

My theme’s cart icon still shows on the ordering page

Section titled “My theme’s cart icon still shows on the ordering page”

The block hides the cart icon automatically on the free Shopify themes. If yours still shows, add your theme’s cart selector under Advanced → Additional cart selector (advanced). This matters because customers should check out through the app cart so their order details apply.

The cart or prices show the wrong currency

Section titled “The cart or prices show the wrong currency”

Check the Online ordering connection card in Settings → General Online Ordering Settings, since that connection delivers market-correct prices. It should show Active; if it shows Needs attention or Not set up, select Regenerate. When a customer switches currency, the page reloads and both prices and the cart follow the new currency.

Live stock isn’t updating for a location

Section titled “Live stock isn’t updating for a location”

Per-location live stock requires local pickup to be enabled for that location in your Shopify shipping settings. Until then, the menu uses the sold-out items captured at the last publish, or the live sold-out list if Live menu data and sold-out updates is turned on. The location page shows an Enable local pickup for live stock levels banner when this applies.

A location shows as “Closed” when it shouldn’t

Section titled “A location shows as “Closed” when it shouldn’t”

Check the location’s store hours and any date overrides (Location Setup → Store Hours on the location page), and confirm its time zone is correct. Hours are evaluated in the location’s local time.

My “Element Colors” are blank, or show as “Select” or “Transparent”

Section titled “My “Element Colors” are blank, or show as “Select” or “Transparent””

That’s expected. Blank Element Colors show as Select in the sidebar (and as “Transparent” in the colour picker), which means “inherit the default”: the element still renders a real colour from your base colours. You only set one when you want that element to differ.

The “Navbar background” setting disappeared

Section titled “The “Navbar background” setting disappeared”

It only appears when Show section background is off, because it only applies to the nav-card layout. Turn the section background off to see it.

Confirm your Online ordering page URL is a full URL starting with https://.

Turn off Show debug information under Advanced. It’s a troubleshooting tool and shouldn’t be on for customers.
