Sharing Collection Links
Each collection on a location’s menu has its own POS Cafe online ordering link. The link opens your online ordering page at that location and scrolls straight to that collection’s heading, so you can send customers directly to, say, your coffee or breakfast menu.
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”Collection links are built from your Online ordering page URL. Set it first in Settings → General Online Ordering Settings. See General Online Ordering Settings.
Until it’s set, the Location Menu page shows the banner Add your online ordering page URL to generate collection links. Select Go to settings to open the settings page.
Find and copy a collection link
Section titled “Find and copy a collection link”- Go to Locations and open a location.
- Under Location Setup, select Location Menu.
- In the Collections list, each collection shows its link in a read-only field next to its name.
- Select the copy button next to the field. A Collection link copied message confirms it.
A collection with no products shows Add products to enable linking instead of a link.
What the link looks like
Section titled “What the link looks like”The copied link is the path of your ordering page plus the location and collection, without your store’s domain. For example:
/pages/order?location=123456789&collection=coffeeThis works as-is for links inside your own online store (for example, an “Order now” button on your home page). To share it anywhere else, add your store’s address in front, for example https://your-store.com/pages/order?location=123456789&collection=coffee.
What customers see
Section titled “What customers see”When a customer opens a collection link, the online ordering menu:
- Selects the location in the link automatically.
- Scrolls to that collection’s section of the menu.
As customers scroll through the menu, the page address updates to the collection they’re viewing, so the link they copy from their browser also points to that spot.
Ways to use collection links
Section titled “Ways to use collection links”- Buttons or banners on your own store’s pages that lead to a specific part of the menu.
- Posts, emails or messages that promote a particular range, such as a seasonal menu.
- QR codes on printed menus or signage (turn the full link, including your store’s address, into a QR code with a QR code tool of your choice).
For links that also set a table, use table QR codes instead. See QR Codes & Table Ordering.
